Fork Lift Operator Training Programs

Certification programs for Counterbalance, Narrow Aisle, Powerjack, Tow Tractor, Burden Carrier, Rough Terrain and Container Handler classes 1- 7 ( BC Reg. G16.1 + CSA #B335.15 ) are available for beginner and experienced operators. Material is delivered through interactive discussion, multi-media presentations along with workbooks and handouts followed by practical hands-on training. Topics covered include:

  • Safety Regulations & Standards

  • Maintenance & Principals of Operation

  • Fundamentals & Operation Manual

  • Pre-operational Inspections

  • Driving Hazards

  • Safe Load Handling Techniques

Successful completion of each training program will require the passing of an examination of both theory knowledge and practical operating skills. Each operator will be required to re-certify every 3 years to maintain up to date requirements. 

COUNTERBALANCE: CLASS 1, 4 & 5

POWERJACK: CLASS 3

Course Details

CLASSROOM, THEORY & ELEMENTS

  • Legislation & Standards

  • Principals of Operation

  • Load Handling

  • Operational Maintenance

  • Written Exam

WORKSITE HAZARD INSPECTION

  • Throughout the work day


COURSE MATERIALS PROVIDED

  • Workbook & Supplemental Handouts

  • Wallet card Certification: Upon successful course completion

  • Wall Certificate, if required

OPERATIONAL HANDS ON TRAINING

  • Operational Proficiency

  • Evaluation

Training:

TRAINING DURATION

Counterbalance, Narrow Aisle, Powerjack, Tow Tractor, Burden Carrier, Rough Terrain, *Container Handler

  • Full day = Half day Theory + Half day Practical

  • *Container Handler Course = Half day - can’t be combined with other courses.

  • Novice participants may require additional time for practice.


Every operator of any of these training programs will need to re-certify every 3 years. If you have previously taken a DWM Training course or have completed training through another qualified provider and need to re-certify, please contact us to set up your re-certification training dates.

  • For your convenience all training programs are offered as On-Site Training at your location.
