TRAINING

Hazard Safety Training Programs

Certification programs for WHMIS, TDG and OH&S - ( BC Reg. G5.3-1 ) are available. Material is delivered through interactive discussion, multi-media presentations along with workbooks and handouts. Topics covered include:

  • Safety Regulations & Standards

  • Identifying Hazardous Materials & Locations

  • Understanding First Aid for Hazardous Material

  • Rescue Procedures

Successful completion of each training program will require the passing of a written examination of theory knowledge. Each participant will be required to re-certify every 3 years to maintain up to date credentials. 


TDG

Transportation of Dangerous
Goods

The Transportation of Dangerous Good TDG Act sets out important standards for the transportation and movement of harmful materials and chemicals within Canada. By defining dangerous goods and setting specific rules for their transport, these regulations protect the public and the people involved in their transport. Topics covered:

  • Regulations for TDG in Canada

  • Classifications of Dangerous Goods

  • Placards, Labels & TDG Symbols required on all vehicles and containers

  • Documentation Requirements when transporting Dangerous Goods

  • Requirements & Procedures for emergency or accidental release or spill of Dangerous Goods.

WHMIS 2015 & GHS

Workplace Hazardous Material Information System & Globally Harmonized System for Hazardous Materials

WHMIS is a Canada-wide system providing employers and workers with information on hazardous products that are used and sorted on work sites. Topics covered:

  • Legislation & Regulations

  • Key Elements of WHMIS

  • WHMIS Symbols, Labels & Exemptions

  • Safety Data Sheets ( SDS )

  • Worker Training

OH&S

Occupational Health
& Safety

Provides a clear understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and how to implement and or develop any part of this program at your workplace. Topics covered:

  • Health & Safety Policy and Legislation

  • Accident & Incident Investigations

  • Duties, Rights & Responsibilities of Workers and Employers

  • Health & Safety Committiees

  • Records & Statistics and Job & Task Analysis

  • Safety Orientation for New Employees

Every operator of any of these training programs will need to re-certify every 3 years. If you have previously taken a DWM Training course or have completed training through another qualified provider and need to re-certify, please contact us to set up your re-certification training dates.
